Photochromic Cellulose Acetate eyewear frame

Photochromic Cellulose Acetate Fiber is an innovative material technology that integrates light-sensitive nanoparticles or molecules into cellulose acetate fibers, enabling dynamic color-changing properties. When not exposed to ultraviolet light (e.g., sunlight), pre-designed patterns or motifs on the fiber remain transparent or light-colored. Upon UV exposure, the photosensitive components undergo molecular structural changes, absorbing specific wavelengths of light and causing the patterned areas to rapidly darken (e.g., turning deep blue, black, or other colors), thereby revealing hidden decorative designs. This technology combines the lightweight, flexible, and biodegradable nature of cellulose acetate with smart responsiveness.
